In continuation of my despatch, Executive, No. 215, of the 13th instant,

I have the honor to report that

on the night of the 14th instant the

Foreign Factories at Canton were

burnt to the ground by the Chinese. The intelligence did not reach this place till the morning of the 15th, some fifteen hours after the event.
